This yarn is a 2-ply DK/light worsted weight worsted spun yarn for hand knitting. It has about 260 yards per 100g, and is made of the luscious wool of Romney and Gotland sheep living happily in Montana. Romney and Gotland are two breeds of sheep in the Longwool family. That means that the wool they grow is very durable, hard-wearing, and, if knit very densely, somewhat waterproof! This yarn is best for outerwear, socks/slippers, gloves, and other hard-wearing items, not scarves (which touch your neck) or next-to-skin tops.
The wool is washed, carded and spun in a sustainable mill in Montana. Some colors are natural, others are dyed by hand in San Francisco with sustainably harvested plants and bugs.
CARE
Hand wash by soaking in lukewarm water with a mild detergent.
Let the fabric soak for 15 min, gently squeeze out excess moisture (use towels).
